Keri

Keri is a life-long dog lover, who grew up as the eldest of four girls in Alvechurch, Worcestershire.  After working as a Chef for many years, and owning her own restaurant business which involved managing up to twenty staff, Keri decided that it was time for a change.  She started Sandbarks as a dog walking business in November 2022, so that she could combine her passion for dogs, and her love for exercise and the outdoors.  Following a successful inspection by BCP Council, she gained her daycare and boarding licence in June 2023, and since then has welcomed over fifty different dogs into her home.

Dan

Dan is originally from Worthing in West Sussex, and has worked full time as a Design Engineer for Sunseeker International for over ten years.  He works from home two days a week, and helps out with walks and caring for the dogs at evenings and weekends.  Despite calling himself more of a ‘cat person’ when he and Keri met, Dan is now well experienced with all different breeds and temperaments of dogs, having been involved with caring for all of our doggy guests since June 2023, and of course with caring for Tina and Lyra as their one and only ‘Dog Dad’.

Health and Wellness

We are devoted to promoting health and wellness for all dogs under our care.  We will follow specific feeding instructions given by you, as well as any medication requirements and exercise limitations.  We are also both trained in Canine First Aid by the fantastic Dr David Badger, lead veterinary at Aniwell Veterinary Clinics, and keep well stocked first aid kits in both the house and the van at all times.

Entertainment and Fun

Our mission is to ensure that every dog returns home having enjoyed plenty of adventurous walks, positive interactions with other dogs, and the correct amount of mental stimulation.  We also ensure that all dogs have a good amount of down time throughout the day, to avoid the risk of over stimulation.

Loving Environment

Dogs are part of the family, and at Sandbarks we treat every dog as if it were our own.  At home, dogs have the run of the living area, with plenty of soft beds and sofa space to go around, as well as quiet spaces for those who need a bit of alone time.  We spend lots of time getting to know each dog, and provide cuddles and company to all our guests.  After all, that’s the best part of the job!
